Outback Camping II

Our Bus!

After amusing ourselves immensely, we all piled back onto the bus for some more group bonding for our journey to Kings Canyon, where we were to set up camp for the night. By group bonding, I seem to remember that most people fell asleep, when they weren't being attacked by a mini McDonalds football?

This photo of our little bus was actually taken by Jo (thanks, Jo!), because mine was so poor...

Sand Dune

Stopping for a toilet break, we saw a red sand dune, and thought it might make for a good group photo - you know, typically Australian:

"Let's all run up there, and get someone to take a photo!"
"But it will look rubbish, won't it?"
"No, of course it won't, it will be great..."

But, alas, it did look rubbish.

Wood collecting - legitimately

Inexplicably, this is one of the very few photos of the gorgeous Rychelle, loading up our trailer with bits of dead tree that we purloined from the side of the road, to burn later on in the night.

Who got the biggest bit of wood?

I did.

And I will fight anyone who disagrees...

Campfire at Kings Canyon

The wood that we collected (along with numerous snakes, spiders and other nasties, no doubt) created this lovely camp fire for us later on in the evening, keeping us warm whilst we prepared dinner, and a select few created the centrepiece for the dinner table.

Centrepiece, you ask...?
